The event runs at the North San Jose store only. The downtown store at 66 W Santa Clara St keeps its usual hours that day and is not part of the event.

The event page also says products are subject to availability. It does not list which Cookies products arrive, their prices, or how many of each there will be, so the menu on the day is the place to check.

Who is Berner?

Berner was born Gilbert Anthony Milam Jr., according to Cookies, and the San Francisco Chronicle describes him as a San Francisco native and the public face of the brand. Cookies names him as its co-founder and CEO.

His music career runs alongside the business. Cookies says he founded the label Bern One Entertainment. His album Gotti debuted at No. 3 on Billboard's Top Album Sales chart dated December 18, 2021, and placed No. 4 on Top Rap Albums and No. 2 on Independent Albums the same week.

What is Cookies?

Cookies is a California cannabis brand that Berner founded in 2010 with Jai, a Bay Area breeder and cultivator, according to the company's own About page. The company is headquartered in San Francisco and opened its first retail store in Los Angeles in 2018.

The brand's reputation rests on genetics. Cookies credits Jai with breeding Girl Scout Cookies, Cherry Pie, Sunset Sherbet, Gelato and Biscotti. The company says it has developed more than 70 proprietary cultivars and more than 2,000 products, figures from its own site rather than an outside count.

These are the regular listings, and both stock and prices move from week to week. Our guide to what an eighth costs in San Jose explains how taxes change the number you pay. The event drops are separate, and the event page names none of them. Purple Lotus's flower menu shows everything in stock at the store you pick, Cookies included.

The event page does not say whether the new Cookies products can be ordered ahead for pickup, so do not count on reserving one before the day. The regular listings can be: the Purple Lotus homepage says pickup orders can be placed online at any hour and are filled between 8 AM and 10 PM, at the store chosen at checkout.

How the Cookies sizes count toward the daily limit

California caps what one adult-use customer can buy from a licensed retailer in a day under 4 CCR 15409, and the caps apply on November 14 as on any other day. Flower counts toward 28.5 grams of non-concentrated cannabis. Vape oil counts toward a separate allowance of 8 grams of concentrate. Six immature plants make up the third cap.

Every Cookies flower listing above is a 3.5-gram package. Eight of them weigh 28 grams in total, and that stays under the flower cap with half a gram to spare. Nine would weigh 31.5 grams and go over.

The four cartridges hold 1 gram each, so one customer can buy at most eight in a day, whichever strains they are. A basket of four eighths and two cartridges uses 14 of the 28.5 flower grams and 2 of the 8 concentrate grams, because each allowance is counted on its own. Our purchase limits guide covers pre-rolls, edibles and the other product types.

How the day works

Doors open at 8 AM, as on any day. The event itself runs from 11 AM to 2 PM, and the event page puts Berner's appearance, the product drops, the food and the DJ inside that window. It gives no schedule within those three hours.

The page also leaves several practical questions open. It does not say whether there will be a line or a sign-up for Berner's appearance, whether a ticket or wristband is needed, or whether the drops carry any per-customer limit below the state caps. For any of those, call the store at (408) 456-0420 before you go.

Nothing can be consumed on the premises, according to the event page, and DCC's consumer guidance says cannabis cannot be used in public places. Everything bought leaves the store in a closed exit package, as state rules require, and in a car DCC says cannabis has to stay in a sealed package or container, or in the trunk.

What ID you need at the door

Purple Lotus accepts valid, unexpired US state driver's licenses and state ID cards, military IDs, and US or foreign passports. Its site says that under City of San Jose rules the ID needs a scannable barcode, and it does not accept paper temporary IDs, expired IDs or photos of an ID on a phone.

The city rule behind that is section 6.88.440 of the San Jose Municipal Code, rewritten in December 2025. It requires a dispensary to check the age of everyone who enters, and again before any sale, with an electronic age verification device, and it bars typing ID details in by hand. State rules set the list of acceptable IDs in 4 CCR 15404: a government-issued photo ID with name, date of birth, height and gender, a military ID, or a passport from any country.

If a passport is the only ID you carry, call (408) 456-0420 before the day and check that it will scan at the door.

Paying at Purple Lotus

The store takes debit with a PIN, cash and Treez Pay. The Purple Lotus FAQ puts a flat $5 fee on Treez Pay, and the site lists an on-site ATM among its payment options.

Getting to 752 Commercial St

By car. Purple Lotus says the store sits off US-101 at the Oakland Road exit, close to I-880 at Brokaw Road and Gish Road and to Montague Expressway, and has a free on-site customer lot with ADA-accessible spaces.

By bus. VTA Route 66, which runs from North Milpitas to Santa Teresa Station, stops at Oakland and Charles in both directions. From either stop the store is about a 6-minute walk, roughly 430 to 450 meters on OpenStreetMap's walking route. VTA's Saturday timetable has a bus about every 20 minutes each way between 9:30 AM and 3 PM at the Oakland and Brokaw timepoint, which covers the whole event. The same route reaches Milpitas BART to the north and downtown San Jose to the south, with stops at 1st and Santa Clara and 2nd and Santa Clara. On the Saturday timetable a northbound bus takes about 20 minutes from 1st and Santa Clara to the Oakland and Brokaw timepoint, so the route also links the downtown Purple Lotus store, on Santa Clara Street between Market Street and First Street, with the event.

By BART. Berryessa/North San José station is 1.41 miles from the store on foot, about 30 minutes, on OpenStreetMap's walking route. By car the same trip is about 2.6 kilometers and 6 minutes via Mabury Road, Oakland Road and Commercial St.

Nearby that Saturday. The San Jose Flea Market at 1590 Berryessa Road, next to the BART station and about 2 kilometers from the store, is open that day, as it is every Saturday, typically from 6 AM to 5 PM. The Sharks and SJSU football both play away that day.

Purple Lotus stores and licenses

Purple Lotus has two stores in San Jose, listed on the locations section of its site, and both are open 8 AM to 10 PM every day. Purple Lotus holds two Adult-Use retail licenses from the California Department of Cannabis Control: C10-0000241-LIC for 752 Commercial St, San Jose, and C10-0001440-LIC for 66 W Santa Clara St, San Jose. Every purchase needs a valid government-issued photo ID showing you are 21 or older.
