From Bay Area Rapper to Global Cannabis Icon

Born and raised in San Francisco, Berner (Gilbert Milam Jr.) built his reputation through a combination of independent hip-hop, entrepreneurial ambition, and a deep connection to California cannabis culture. His rise in the music industry began with independent releases that helped establish him as a recognizable voice in Bay Area hip-hop. Over the years, Berner expanded his audience through collaborations with major artists, including Wiz Khalifa, and became closely associated with the Taylor Gang movement. His music, business ventures, and authentic connection to cannabis culture helped him build a loyal following that extends far beyond California. Today, Berner is recognized not only for his extensive music catalog but also for helping bring cannabis culture into mainstream entertainment and business.

The Rise of Cookies – One of the Most Recognized Names in Cannabis

Berner's influence extends well beyond music. As a co-founder of Cookies, alongside legendary cannabis breeder and cultivator Jai, Berner helped transform a California cannabis brand into an internationally recognized name. What began with a focus on premium genetics, distinctive strains, and authentic street culture eventually grew into a cannabis lifestyle brand known for its recognizable blue branding, apparel, retail presence, and sought-after flower genetics. Cookies helped popularize a new generation of cannabis strains and demonstrated how music, lifestyle, and cannabis could come together to create a powerful cultural movement. Berner's entrepreneurial vision and commitment to brand building have made him one of the most influential figures in the modern cannabis industry.
