Purple Lotus Walks A Mile In Her Shoes
Domestic violence should not happen to anybody. Ever. Period. Yet, on average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States. During one year, this equates to more than 10 million women and men (NCADV, 2017).
This statistic is not only alarming to us as a collective, but also a nation. This is why Purple Lotus Patient Center of San Jose is teaming up with Walk A Mile In Her Shoes to increase awareness and shed light on how this nation-wide problem can be dealt with head-on.
On June 21, the staff and patients of the Purple Lotus Patient Center will be joining the effort to fight back and bring an end to domestic violence. The walk will include over 1,000 men walking in heels, one for every survivor of sexual assault YWCA will help this year alone.
