420 in the Park San Jose 2026

San Jose gets its first 420 weekend celebration with two days of music, cannabis culture, food, and community. Presented by Purple Lotus.

420 in the Park is about to make history. On April 18 and 19, 2026, downtown San Jose's Plaza de Cesar Chavez transforms into the Bay Area's newest 420 weekend destination, with two full days of live music, cannabis brands, food trucks, art installations, and VIP experiences. This is the first event of its kind in San Jose, and it is being produced in partnership with Purple Lotus, the city's only family-owned cannabis dispensary.

Whether you are a reggae fan who wants to see The Legendary Wailers perform Bob Marley's music the way it was meant to be heard, a Bay Area hip-hop head ready to catch Baby Bash, Luniz, and RBL Posse live, or someone who wants to spend a beautiful April weekend celebrating cannabis culture in the open air, this festival is for you.

What Is 420 in the Park?

420 in the Park is a curated, ticketed, 21+ festival that combines live music, cannabis culture, art activations, food and beverage, and hospitality in the heart of downtown San Jose. It is part of the Music in the Park series and co-produced with Metro, the valley's independent weekly newspaper, alongside Purple Lotus.

The festival takes place at Plaza de Cesar Chavez, one of downtown San Jose's most iconic public spaces. The park sits at the intersection of Market Street and San Carlos Street, surrounded by restaurants, parking garages, and easy VTA access.

Saturday, April 18: Reggae Day

DAY 1: THE LEGENDARY WAILERS featuring JULIAN JUNIOR MARVIN

Doors: 1 PM | Music Starts: 3 PM | Plaza de Cesar Chavez

Also performing: Bayonics | Ancestree | Hijinx

The Saturday lineup is anchored by The Legendary Wailers featuring Julian "Junior" Marvin, one of the most important figures in reggae history. Junior Marvin joined Bob Marley and The Wailers on Valentine's Day 1977, and his guitar work defined some of the most celebrated reggae albums ever recorded.

His debut with the group, the Exodus LP, was named Album of the Century by Time Magazine in 1999. The song "One Love" was named Song of the Millennium. In 2002, Guitar World Magazine included Junior in its Top 100 Guitarists of All Time for his solo on "Africa Unite."

Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Junior Marvin moved to London as a child and appeared in The Beatles' film Help before building a reputation as an innovative guitarist. He played alongside T-Bone Walker, Billy Preston, and Ike and Tina Turner, and contributed to albums by Traffic, Toots and The Maytals, and Steve Winwood before joining Bob Marley.

Also performing Saturday: Bayonics (SF Latin funk/reggae fusion), Ancestree (Bay Area roots reggae), and Hijinx (eclectic Bay Area energy).

Sunday, April 19: Bay Area Hip-Hop Day

DAY 2: BABY BASH | LUNIZ | RBL POSSE

Doors: 1 PM | Plaza de Cesar Chavez

Also performing: CRSB | Los Rakas | Amp Melo | Yonex Jones | Special Guests

Sunday is headlined by Baby Bash, one of the Bay Area's most successful rappers. Born Ronnie Ray Bryant in Vallejo, California, Baby Bash has multi-platinum hits including "Suga Suga," "Cyclone" featuring T-Pain, and "Baby, I'm Back" featuring Akon. With 6.6 million monthly Spotify listeners, his Bay Area homecoming performance is a festival highlight.

Luniz bring "I Got 5 on It" to the stage, arguably the most iconic cannabis anthem in hip-hop history. Their 1995 Oakland debut put the Bay Area on the national rap map.

RBL Posse from San Francisco's Hunters Point are Bay Area hip-hop legends. Their 1992 track "Don't Give Me No Bammer" became a defining anthem and helped establish San Francisco's place in the rap landscape.

Rounding out the lineup: CRSB, Los Rakas (Oakland bilingual hip-hop/reggaeton), Amp Melo, Yonex Jones, and additional special guests still being announced.
